Born in Nashville, Bella has lived in Chattanooga since 1983 where she attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from UTC in Secondary Education and Political Science, and a Masters of Education in Guidance and Counseling.
Bella has taught ART classes to adults and children on a part time basis for the last ten years at UTC and GPS. She has been married for 20 years and has 4 children ages 7-19 Jacqueline, John-David, Grayson and Lucy.
